Goblin Head Golf

Excerpts from "The Great Goblin War":

The Great Warriors had defeaded the goblin army and taken many prisoners.

<What shall we do with the prisoners of war, my liege?>

<We shall show them no mercy, just like they showed us none!>

<...Bbbbut how shall we disperse of them, my liege?>

<We shall rid them of their heads! One by one! By sword and axe! And their heads shall roll... no! FLY through the air across the whole Kingdom!>

<...But, my liege, after the heads have flown, where are we supposed to put them?>

<We shall make holes for the heads!>

<Sounds like an aweful lot of work, my liege, to put all the heads in holes...>

<We shall make it a contest! Decapitate a goblin and put his head in a hole! If you do really well, you score a... an... a bird thing! Bird-tee. BIR-DEE!>

And thats how the game of Goblin Head Golf was invented. The End.

Really nice game! The pars are really hard to achieve though. My personal best is 46, 10 to the total par

Thanks for playing! Golf is hard:)

Fantastic game. Out-of-the-box concept, clever course design, great SFX and music. Do have to agree with other commenters re: swing scale - on every course except the graveyard I was pretty much just hunting for the exact right pixel in the last 10% of the swing curve.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I'll definitely look into it if I decide on a post-jam update.

I was nearly triple the par but I completed it, really fun concept and weirdly relaxing game

Cheers!

Man, I really love the concept, and the juice on the swing is superb.

That being said - the curve on charging your swing feels way off. 90% of your hit strength is gained in the last 10%, and the other 90% feels almost useless. I think the problem is that the "club" rotates linearly, but the strength increases exponentially. It kinda adds to the wonky feel, but I don't feel like it's worth it.

That being said - overall nice game! Had some fun and a good laugh

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Did some limited playtesting with a linear strenght when developing and decided to go with the exponential one, but I understand your point. Will look into it in possible future updates and try a smaller exponent or a linear charge.

Awesome!  Nice game!

Thanks!

Awesome game, really enjoyed it... Good sfx, music, gameplay and a good laugh! Would like to see anyone make par :O

Cheers for checking it out! My record is +7, I will get there some day...:P

Nice game, has some depth !

Thanks for checking it out!

Didn't know you can golf a goblin's head!

Controls is a little bit hard to handle personally like a angle indicator but still it's a game for a jam so still a great addicting game.

Cheers for checking it out and for the feedback! As Hawkinberry suggested, an indicator for the last swing might be something I'll add, still wanna keep it difficult though. Golf is hard and unforgiving!

This is an awesome game! Totally unexpected use of the art pack to make a relaxing Sunday-afternoon golf game. Casually whacking goblin heads across the green with swords and battle axes. 5/5

I hope you keep developing this! Maybe add an indicator of the last swing strength/height?

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Swing indicator for the last swing sounds like a great idea, will look in to that!

No problem! I had to remind myself to compare the height of the swing to the player's head, so I would remember :P I ended with a score of 96 XD

Nicely put together. I really liked the way the bushes and trees slowed the heads, it's a subtle touch.

Thanks for checking it out!
